Dr. Edgar Copp, 81 had practiced osteopathy
Dr. Edgar L. Copp. D.O.. who practiced osteopathic medicine in Braintree for 40 years and in Falmouth for 10 years, died Thursday, in Nakomis. Fla.. of pulmonary failure. He was 81. — Dr. Copp was born in Lynn and was a graduate of Bridgewater High School and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathy. He practiced medicine for 55 years in New Jersey; in Braintree, where he moved in 1932; and in Falmouth, where he moved 12 years ago. He moved to Florida in 1983. He was the medical adviser for Braintree High School for many years, attending games with the school’s teams. He was a charter member and past president of the Braintree Rotary Club and a member of the Delta Lodge of Masons, the Braintree Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church of Braintree. He was an honorary member of the Falmouth Rotary Club. He leaves a wife, Patricia (Page); three sons, Richard D. Copp of West Hartford, Conn.. Philip M. Copp of Washington. N.H., and David B. Copp of Somerville N.J.: and six grandchildren. His first wife, Isabelle H. (DeWitt). died in 1960. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Mortimer N. Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington st., Braintree.
