Betty Jean Robbins, 83, passed away at her home on Friday, August 25, 2017 in the company of her family. Born in Portsmouth on February 16, 1934, she was the daughter of Andrew and Edna (Erickson) Leary. She grew up in Kittery, Maine, and was a graduate of Traip Academy. Betty’s life revolved around her family and helping others. Later in life, her grandchildren became a source of great joy to her.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years Kenneth W. Robbins Sr.; children Kenneth W. Robbins Jr. and wife Ann, Steven Robbins, Karen Foye and husband Ken; grandchildren Benjamin, Jeremy, Kenneth, and Samuel Robbins, Michael Lakowicz, Jannell Lovely; and a great-grandson. She was predeceased by her brother Andrew Leary.
A celebration of her life will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on September 6 at the Portsmouth Lodge of Elks, 500 Jones Avenue, Portsmouth. Inurnment will take place later in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. Family flowers only, please.
