      Donald Eugene Smith “Don” B.Sc., P .Eng (F/ Lt. RCAF 425 Squadron-Alouettes, Veteran of W.W.II) Passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 10, 2006 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in his 85th year.
       Beloved husband of the late Muriel (née Kay). Loving father of Don and his wife Darlene (Edmonton AB.), David and Deborah Smith and her husband Cha Loh. Proud “Foxy Grandpa” to Danelle and “Boompa” to Alexandra and James. Don ser ved his country as a Halifax bomber pilot in W.W.II. Following internment as a POW in Germany, he returned to Canada to study geology at Acadia University. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the mining and mineral exploration industry. He remained very active in the Prospectors and Developers Association and in the RCAF ex-POW Association.
       Family and friends will be received at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON, (Dundas Street at Ninth Line) on Monday May 15, 2006 from 1pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 2pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family
