      SMITH, GERALD
      The death of Gerald Francis Smith, age 86, husband of Ethel (Black) Smith of Lower Cambridge, NB, occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Monday, August 22, 2011. He was born on February 6, 1925, in Campbellton, NB, the son of the late Richard and Elsie (Heisler) Smith. Gerald is survived by his wife Ethel; daughter Marie Perry and husband Ronald; granddaughter Dawn Perry all of Lower Cambridge; sisters-in-law Joyce Smith of Kingston, ON, and Effie Smith of Avon Park, FL; nephews Gordon and Barbara Black, Donald and Marlene Black and Alvin and Dora Smith; niece Diane and John Osborne; as well as several grand and great grand nephews and nieces and cousins. Gerald was predeceased by his brothers Douglas and Llewellyn Smith; brother-in-law Arthur Black and his wife Evelyn.
       Resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, with visiting Thursday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. He was a long-time member of First Cambridge Baptist Church at MacDonald’s Corner, from where the funeral service, conducted by Rev. Aubrey Trail, will be held at 2:00 pm, on Friday, August 26, 2011. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Donations in memory of Gerald may be made to a memorial of the donor’s choice.
