      MACALPINE, MAVIS IONA MAE
      The death of Mavis Iona Mae (Jones) MacAlpine, age 83, of the Village of Gagetown, occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Monday, May 12, 2008. She was the wife of the late J. Stanley MacAlpine and daughter of the late Percy and Annie (Evans) Jones. Mavis is survived by daughters, Sharon and James McConchie of Central Hampstead, Barbara Briggs of Gagetown, Ruth MacAlpine of Edmonton, AB, Joyce and Joe Pitre of Fredericton, and Dale and Gary MaGee of Edmonton, AB; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Maxine Haines of Keswick Ridge; brothers, Paul Jones and Gordon and Audrey Jones of Fredericton; sisters-in-law, Mary MacAlpine, Edith Webb and Hilda Jones all of British Columbia; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Beatrice Cooper; brothers, Lawrence, Charles and Russell Jones.
       Resting at her residence, 33 Hope Lane, Gagetown, NB, with visiting on Friday from 2 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. John’s Anglican Church, 3 Courthouse Hill, Gagetown, on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Upper Hampstead Cemetery, Upper Hampstead, NB. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Condolences to the family may be made through www.sherwoodsfuneralhome.com. Sherwood’s Funeral Home (839-2156) entrusted with arrangements.
