The death of
Alice Audrey Fletcher of Riverdale Manor, Hampton and formerly of Sussex and Upham, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 25, 2009 at the age of 101. Born in Corn Hill, NB, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Branscombe) Keith and was the wife of the late Roy Fletcher who passed away in 1981. Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her daughters; Audrey (Lloyd) McKinley of Hampton and their children; June, Janet, Carol and Paul, Frances (Dale) McAdam of Russell, ON and their children; Barbara, Kerry and Trevor, Ruth (Carl) Baxter of Baxter’s Corner and their children; Keith and Carlene, her sons; Keith (Shirley) Fletcher of Sussex and their children; Karen, John and Heather, Roy (Mary) Fletcher of Edmonton, AB and their children; Mark and David and 24 great grandchildren, her sister Mary Keith of Petitcodiac and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 4 sisters; Zena Gogan, Elsie Galloway, Ella Alward and Clara Keith and 5 brothers; Spurgeon, Percy, Harry, George and Jack.
Mrs. Fletcher graduated from Provincial Normal School in 1928. She was a life member of the Upham Women’s Institute, a life member of the Lord Beaverbrook Chapter 33 Order of the Eastern Star and an honorary member of the Trinity ACW.
The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. An Eastern Star Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday October 29, 2009 at Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex at 2:00PM, with Archdeacon David Barrett officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Upham, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
