GREER, NORMAN ALLISON - (February 17, 1936 - March 20, 2009) - The passing of Norman Greer of Plaster Rock, NB occurred on March 20, 2009 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, Perth-Andover, NB at the age of 73. Born in St. Martins, NB to the late Florence (Moore) and Winslow Greer. Norman lived his childhood and teenage years in Tynemouth Creek, NB on the family farm overlooking the Bay of Fundy. He attended the NB Technical Institute in Moncton and graduated in 1956. Norman was proud to be an Industrial (Shop) Teacher for 38 years. He taught in high schools in New Brunswick and Quebec, but spent most his career at Tobique Valley High School in Plaster Rock where he retired in 1994. Norman loved life on the Tobique River. A great day for him would be a day in the woods on his ATV with family and friends when the trout were biting or there were blueberries to pick followed by a game of cards in the evening. Norman is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Faye (Campbell), three daughters Jocelyn (Mark) Prager of Kingston, ON, Sara (Michael) O’Malley of Oromocto and Stephanie (Bruce) Allain of Fall River, NS; two sons William Greer of Toronto, ON and Glenn Greer of Plaster Rock. Norman will be sadly missed by his six grandchildren Norman, Benjamin, Zoe, James, Matthew and A.J. He is survived by his sisters Marjorie Robertson of Saint John and Gloria (Hugh) Currie of Bathurst, and his brother Charles (Vonna) of Tynemouth Creek, NB. Resting at White’s Chapel, Plaster Rock, NB with visiting hours on Monday, March 23, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 2 pm from White’s Chapel, Plaster Rock with Rev. Leonard Cousins officiating. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to White’s Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
