A service for former Adel resident
Clair A Folk, 78, of Apache Junction, Arizona, was held 4 Oct 1983 at the First Christian Church at Adel with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens. Mr. Folk died September 29.
He was born at Dallas Center to Albert H. and Elizabeth Terry Folk and spent most of his life in the Adel area until moving to Arizona a year ago. Mr. Folk married Ellen Poffenberger in 1934. She died in 1955. He was a former heavy equipment mechanic for the state, a former member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Broadway Christian Church of Mesa, Arizona.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; a son, Donald of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Judy Sheriff and Nadine Cattle of Greenfield; four stepsons, Paul Jones of Redfield, Clark Jones of Ipswich, Massachusetts, Ray Jones of Apache Junction and Lee Jones of Mesa; two stepdaughters, Ethel McQuinn of Russiaville, Indiana, and Dorothy Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a sister, Edna Merha of Denver, Colorado; four grandchildren; 21 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
