Alene Borneman, Donald Gallup Wed In Mount Morris Ceremony
In a ceremony performed Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Church of the Brethren in Mount Morris, Miss Alene Borneman, Boone County, home adviser, was united to Donald F. Gallup of Egan. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Borneman of Leaf River. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clifford C. Gallup of Egan. The Rev. Dean L. Frank heard the couple exchange vows in a single ring ceremony. The church altar was decorated with candelabra, plams, baskets of white gladioli and Easter lilies. The bridal aisle was tied with huckleberry and white bows. Mrs. Alfred Foppen of Forreston played the organ, and Mrs. Carl Nelson of Chicago was the soloist. The bride wore a ballerina-length gown of lace and crystalette. The princess style dress featured a bodice with V neckline and long fitted sleeves of lace. The bouffant skirt of nylon crystalette was full, and the bridal veil, fingertip in length, was secured to a tiara of net and seed pearls. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations centered with pink sweetheart roses and satin showers. She wore pearls and matching earrings, gifts of the groom. Mrs. Calvin Borneman of Leaf River was the matron of honor, and Mrs. Albeit Huston of Chicago was the bridesmaid. Both wore gowns of aqua taffeta and net. The bodices were fashioned of taffeta and featured bows at the side back. The bouffant skirts were of net over taffeta. The aides wore bolero jackets with cap sleeves over the strapless bodices of their gowns and had velveteen lattice headpieces accented by tiny pink flowers. The matron of honor and bridesmaid carried cascade bouquets of pink Sweetheart roses and carnations. Angela Borneman of Leaf River, a niece of the bride, wore an aqua nylon dress and carried a small cascade bouquet of sweetheart roses and carnations. Keith Gallup of Egan, the groom’s brother, was the best man. Calvin Borneman, Duane Davis, Ronald Graham and Earl Hageman were the other male aides. Robert Gallup of Egan was the ring bearer. After the cermony a reception was held in the church parlors. Potted hyacinths, ferns and snapdragons were used for decorations, and at the serving table there was a five-tiered wedding cake. Those who aided at the reception were Mrs. Don Wachlin, who cut the cake; Violet Borneman, who served the punch; Mrs. Wayne Mitchell of Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. Leo Pizzolato of Freeport and Mrs. Richard Wright of Garrison, la., all cousins or the bride, who served; Mrs, Louis Faulkner of Forreston and Miss Darlene Suck of Garrison, la., cousins of the bride, and Mrs. Ray Ridenour of Forreston, who aided with the gifts, and Mrs. Grover Thomas, Mis. Mabel Muller and Mrs. Ross Silvius, all of Mt. Morris, and Mrs. Robert Blough of Polo, who helped in the kitchen.
