Lewis William Pickett, 76, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Moncton Hospital with his family at his side.
Born October 9, 1933 in Cornhill East, he was a son of the late Lewis E. and Ethel (Hunt) Pickett. Lewis was a retired electrical contractor and attended Grace Baptist Church in Lutes Mountain. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, a member and enthusiastic volunteer of the Goshen Snowmobile Club, and a long-time active member of the Salisbury Lions Club. Lewis enjoyed his garden and the yearly labour of cutting and splitting the winter’s wood. He is survived and sadly missed by his second wife Susan (Hoyt, Libby); daughters Margaret Pickett of Nine Mile River, NS and Connie Stultz (Rod) of Lower Coverdale; sons Donald (Sandra) of Upper Coverdale and David (Brenda) of Parkindale; grandchildren Kaleigh, Corey, Anna, Abigail, Keith and Ian; brothers George (Gladys) of Cornhill and Robert (Barbara) of Lower Coverdale; sister Ruth Tomkos (Thomas) of Saint John and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by first wife Shirley (Keith) (1993) and infant brother Eugene.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Sunday, June 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Celebration of Life service will held from the funeral home chapel Monday, June 14 at 11 am. Interment at Cornhill Baptist Church Cemetery.
