The death of
Ralph Orchard, 83, Norton, husband of Elva Crawford Loughery Orchard, occurred at Sussex Health Centre, Friday, February 16, 2001. He was born in Saint John, June 8, 1917, the son of Oswald O. and Nellie (Cooes) Orchard. Ralph was a member of Prince Albert Lodge for over 60 years. He was manager of Orchard’s Washer Repair, Sales & Service for Beatty Brothers Ltd. He was manager of the Irving Product Bar at Elmwood Drive and Lakeburn. Ralph was employed as Warden, Department of Tourism, Hopewell Rocks and owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Moncton.
Ralph is survived by his wife, daughter Bonnie Harvey, Moncton, step-son Bill and Calee Loughery, Calgary, step-daughter Lynn Chamberlain, Edmundston, grandchildren; Tara Florentino, Montreal, and Melissa Flanagan, Winnipeg, step-grandchildren; Troy Chamberlain, Edmundston, and Rob Loughery, Surrey, BC, sister Grace Orchard, Sussex, sister-in-law; Helen Orchard, Moncton, son-in-law Donald Flanagan, Winnipeg, brother-in-law Don Smith, Toronto, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife Florence Kaye Harvey, daughter Susan Flanagan, brother Fred and sisters; Jean and Mildred.
Resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home, 18 Scovil Road, Norton (839-2156). Visiting at the Funeral Home, Sunday 2-6 p.m. Funeral service well be held Monday, February 19, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Andrew’s United Church, Norton, NB. Interment in Riverbank Cemetery in the spring.
