Sarah Ann Smith Death Victim of Heat Suddenly at Her Home Last Night — Mrs.
Sarah Ann Straight, wife of Amos Straight, passed away at her apartment 27th North Main street shortly after 10 o’clock last night, apparently victim of the extreme heat. While Mrs. Straight had been in ill health for some time she about her home yesterday. Last night her husband went to the business district on and leaving the son, Robert Straight in the apartment with his mother. Robert went to the lower floor for a few minutes and when Mr. Straight returned to the apartment ten minutes later, he found his wife suddenly victim of heat. A physician was called but Straight died within a few minutes. Mrs. Straight was born in PiU&iicid, Pike county, Ill., but has been a resident of Jacksonville for many years. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Robert Straight, at home Mrs. Edith Anderso’n and Mrs. Lucille Herndon of North Carolina and Mrs Paul Breckon of Wisconsin. The remains were removed to the Remold Mortuary.
