George P. Straight – Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Agape United Methodist Church in Lubbock with the Rev. Steve Campbell, pastor of United Methodist Church of Slaton, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Straight was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Medford, Mass. He served during World War II in the Navy. He married Doris Gosselin on May 29, 1943, in Springfield, Mass., and they were married for 59 years. His lifetime career as a printer took him and his family to Albuquerque, N.M., and later to Lubbock. He formed his own printing business, STR8s Fotographix, staying in Lubbock until his retirement. He was a member of Agape United Methodist Church in Lubbock. He had been a resident of Amarillo for the last 14 months. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Julie Richardson of Amarillo; three sons, David of Newcastle, Maine, Steve of Durango, Colo., and Bill of Stockton, Calif.; a son-in-law, James Bosworth of Center Strafford, N.H.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several relatives residing in Canada. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, TX 79101.

STRAIGHT, GEORGE P. – Of Amarillo, TX passed away at the Country Club Manor Nursing Home on Monday March 25, 2002, at the age of 81. Born in Medford, Massachusetts on February 9, 1921, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Knorr) Straight of NB. His lifetime career as a printer took him and his family to Albuquerque, NM and later to Lubbock where he formed his own printing business, STR8s Fotographix, staying there until his retirement. He had been a resident of Amarillo for the past 14 months. George is survived by his wife of 59 years Doris, daughter Julia, sons David, Steve and Bill; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several relatives in the NB area. He was predeceased by his daughter Virginia “Ginny”. There will be memorial in his honor at the Agape United Methodist Church, Slide Road, Lubbock, TX on April 20, 2002 at 2 PM. In George’s memory donations can be made to the Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101
