Hazelrigg, Grocer, Dies
D. M. (Dell) Hazelrigg, 73, of 1297 W. Decatur St., who operated Hazelrigg’s Shanty Market at 410 S. Fairview Ave. for 23 years, died at 4:20 a.m. today in his home. He had been in failing health several months.
He was born in Scott County, Ill., Feb. 27, 1884, a son of Charles and Ida May Taylor Hazelrigg. He married Miss Ollie May Straight in Winchester, Ill., Dec. 7, 1904. She died May 1, 1951. He married Mrs. Lillie Woodard in Decatur Oct. 20, 1952. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He leaves his wife, two sons, Harry M. Hazelrigg and Thomas J. Hazelrigg, both of Decatur; two brothers, Milton of Winchester and Frank M. of Decatur; four step-sons, Austin Woodard of Mattoon; Charles Woodard of Decatur; Ralph Woodard of St. Joseph; Elmer Woodard of Champaign; three step-daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Dow of Mattodh; Mrs. Audrey Dart of Decatur; Mrs. Rosemary Morris of Decatur: 24 grandchildren and four great grand children.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Brintlinger’s Funeral Home with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after Sunday noon
