Ruth E. Palmer, 94. of Durand died at 2:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 1995, In Medina Manor Nursing Home after a short Illness. Born Feb. 14,1901 in Leaf River, daughter of William and Blanche Steffa Ridgeway.
Lived six months in Durand, coming from Chadwick. Married to Homer Palmer in Oregon on May 22,1918. Member of St. James Lutheran Church in Forreston and very active in various church organizations. Graduate of Lightsville School.
Survivors: two daughters, Loretta (Bill) Fry, Rockford, and LaVada (Chester) Robinson, Vallojo, Calif.; special grandson, Bob (Janice) Palmer, Durand; a sister, Lois (Donald) Sweet, Rockford; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents, her husband, four sons. Earl, Roy, Harry and Donald; a grandson, Gary Wayne Love; a great-grandson, Daniel Lee Palmer, a brother and five sisters.
Services at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at St. James Lutheran Church, Forreston, with the Rev. Dan Johnson, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church In Durand, officiating. Burial in Silver Creek Cemetery.
