Mr. Floyd J. Terwilliger, 94, of Minoa, NY, passed away on February 16, 1986. Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth E. (John D.) Griffith + Mrs. Amina Jane Bauer; a sister Laura Garvey; five grandchildren; several cousins, nieces + nephews. Funeral services at 11AM Wednesday, at the Russel H. Schepp + Son Funeral Home, Minoa. The Rev. Jack Kissel, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery – North Manlius. Calling hours 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Masonic services 8:15AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Minoa United Methodist Church.

Floyd J. Terwilliger, 94, of Minoa, died Sunday, February 16. Services were scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Russel H. Schepp and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. Jack Kissel officiating. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, North Manlius. Mr. Terwilliger was born in North Manlius and his family moved to Minoa when he was two years old. He operated the Minoa Coal Co. from 1927 to 1940, when it was sold to become Brown Fuel and later part of the Agway system. He worked for the New York Telephone, for 15 years, retiring in 1957. Mr. Terwilliger was a Minoa school trustee and served as president of the School Board in 1938. In 1912, Mr. Terwilliger helped organize the S.E. Terwilliger Hose Company, a forerunner of the Minoa Fire Dept. The hose company was named after his father, the first president of the Village of Minoa when it was organized in 1913. Mr. Terwilliger was a member of the Minoa United Methodist Church for more than 74 years. He was a charter member and past master of the Nortrip Lodge 998 of Minoa and had been a Mason for 65 years. He was the past grand master of ceremonies of the Grand Lodge of New York State, and a member of the Royal Arch Masons of Manlius, the Central City Commandery 25 of Knights Templar in Syracuse. He was the first patron of the Minoa Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and served in that post for 11 years. He is survived by two daughters, Ruth Griffith and Amina Bauer, both of Syracuse; a sister, Laura Garvey of Liverpool; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and several cousins. — Bridgeport Times (Chittenango, N.Y.)
